Doug Butler, PhD, FWCF, CJF

Dr. Butler has a Ph.D. in veterinary anatomy and equine nutrition and over 50 years experience as a practicing farrier. He has devoted his life to studying problems associated with horse foot care and simplifying essential information into usable solutions that he shares with his students and fellow horse professionals. He is dedicated to excellence in horse foot care. His books, including “The Principles of Horseshoeing,” are the most widely used in the world on the subject of farriery. A popular speaker, Dr. Butler has spoken at many national horse symposiums and has been a featured speaker at Veterinary Congresses in Argentina, Australia, Canada, Great Britain, and Switzerland. He has addressed the AAEP and the first Florida Association of Equine Practitioners Conference.

Jacob Butler, CJF, DipWCF

Mr. Butler has been shoeing over 15 years. He taught at Mesalands Community College in Tucumcari, New Mexico, for 4 years. Jake has a special interest in the anatomy of the horse’s leg and has taught as a volunteer at the AFA convention Anatomy Lab for the last 9 years. He is the co-author of P3.

Neil Miller

Neil Miller, Brighton, CO brings more than 35 years of horseshoeing experience to his clinics. Neil began his horseshoeing career in the United States Army in 1975. During his career Neil has worked with many breeds but has worked primarily with show horses, specializing in top reining horses. Neil has dedicated himself to maintaining the soundness of the performance horse.
